Thinking of adding a couple of speakers to the boat. Any input on this location (See Pic) thought it would be in out of the weather and pointing to the back of the boat. Its the vacant space in front of the rod holder up under the gunnel. speaker options.png

I did that on my 1998 192. Star board with three through bolts. Only thing I would change is add a box or cover behind since the speakers failed every few years due to corrosion on the connections. 6EFD6147-A393-421A-8514-2244B8E62BF0.jpg

Not sure how to get the speaker wire from under the dash where I plan to mount the bluetooth receiver to the port side. Any suggestions?

I'd put them in the best spot for fit versus sound. Boats are tough to locate speakers, so if you find a spot you like just do it!
As far as wire placement, I fished wires under the cabin headliner. You should be able to go behind the panel under the helm and along the sole of the boat to the other side.

Mine are located here on my 228. I ran the wires through the wire chase under the floor from starboard to port, then through the open area below the companion chair. Out of the way and provide good sound.

I'm at a loss here. where is this wire chase you speak of?

Ok found several things today. 1) the PVC cross pipe above the Aux tank area 2) The aluminum motor bracket drain plug that had nearly 30 gallons of water in it.
Amazing what you find when you start digging deeper into your boat. Thanks for all the help this forum provides. It really is a blessing.

Doubt you'll be able to hear the music while running. If that's important to you, consider mounting them from hardtop. But at anchor I bet you can hear them just fine.

It was important to me. I love being able to listen to the music while underway! When I added the hardtop I added the overhead box with speaker mounting option. There is another pair mounted by the step up. The hull acts as a great subwoofer.

I may add some more over head when I finally get the hard top rebuilt but for now June 4th I have a snapper season and tunes. The blue tooth amp is 400 watts and 4 ch.

Installed set I had in the hardtop down to the side gunnels. They sound great in this position and was an easy install. Have to keep them away from the helm as anywhere near causes interference with compass.
