I have a a few questions about you outriggers if you don't mind.
What kind are they?
1 1/2 poles?
Did you install? If so, how easy?
Does your gunwale flex? Pole flex?
Opinions, comments and suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

I'm still very undecided on what kind of outriggers for my 258. A future project. I like the top mounted as they seem very out of the way when in use and not in use but don't know if I have the room or the support without reinforcement. Side mounts seems to be a little to much for a boat my size and would also seem to be in the way. Gunwale mounts are possible but I don't see them to often, hence my questions. I guess I'll find info elsewhere. :roll:

For whatever it's worth, I installed Lee gunnel mount outriggers (1 3/4") on my Seafarer last summer/fall. They are set with 16 ft. heavy duty poles that are double rigged.
I've used them a couple of times since installing them and have been able to run a couple of extra rods without any trouble. They spread your lines out great and really don't get in the way at all while fishing. I remove them from the boat when not using them and the holder is flush mounted in the gunne. It looks like a rod holder.
I was concerned about mounting outriggers to my hardtop as it is and didn't want to have to get supports welded in.

Many thanks Strikezone. The 1 3/4" Dia. poles are a plus. After debating with myself for quite a while over this issue, I believe the gunwale mounts are the only way to go for me. Now, What kind? The heavy duty Lees are nice and beefy but I like the idea of collapsible poles. Anyway thanks for the info you provided. FISH ON!
I used the heavy duty poles. They are stored on hooks in my garage when not in use and they're not at all heavy to carry. I transport them back and forth to the marina on the top of my SUV. Bought some pipe insulation with the split in it and slip these on the poles before putting them on top of the vehicle. This works real well for me.
