Spring cleaning the Strataglass!!

Spring fever is on me bad. Figured I'd try my hand at cleaning/polishing my new Strataglass enclosure. A&J Canvas did an awesome job on my enclosure. Giving it some love with the IMAR Strataglass cleaner and polish.

I used denatured alcohol on a lint- free cloth, wiped it dry with a clean cloth and then used the stuff that the folks at A&J gave me to polish the clear.

I have a microfibre glove just for my clears so I know it is clean. I give them a wash with fresh water, let it dry and use Vuplex....it does a great job.

I use a spray bottle of liquid car wax. Cheap and works great.

I clean and polish with Meguairs 2 step process and then finish with Plexus. Enclosure is 12 years old. Starting to show it's age, but when done the glass looks good.

OK - gotta ask. Does all of your recommendations work for Eisenglass (or Isinglass?) as well? I'm sure my enclosure is not strataglass, but cheaper vinyl. I am starting to have some issues and want to clean, polish.

Yes, I was talking about clear vinyl. Soap & water & soft rag, dry soft towel( to prevent water spots), then spray car wax (quick shine) & soft rag, then buff with soft dry towel

I'm sure the IMAR would work on the other clear plastics. After the investment of the new enclosure, I'll be using what Strataglass recommends.

That 'glass' can be ruined by using the wrong products. The damage won't be obvious at first. There is a protective coating on the 'glass' that shields out UV rays. Many waxes and cleaners will remove the coating and it's all downhill from there.

Once cleaned up, keep those curtains scratch free with the Clearstow boat curtain storage bag.

Those are nice bags, but expensive. Each one holds 3 pieces.

Nice bags, but my flannel sheets cut up and panels laying flat in the basement works for me. My second winter with them stored like this.
