I have a 1988 GW Overnighter with a Inboard/Outboard 4.3 liter. Recently put a new engine in it. My power steering went out two weeks ago and filled the bilge. I can not see where it was leaking. A questionable boat mechanic looked at it and said it was probably all rusted out and needed to be replaced. I have looked around and can not find this part by the number I see stamped on the ram. Emailed Grady Factory and was told they do not have the records for parts that far back.
The normal shop I have maint done is at least 1 month backed up so thats why I have had a questionable mechanic look at it. Been 2 weeks and he has accomplished nothing.
Has anyone been through this and what should I try. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Really want to fish!
