I am looking to buy a new steering wheel for my 2001 Marlin 30. You can get one with a 5/8 nut or a 1/2 inch nut. Does anyone know which size fits the Grady steering shaft?

Are you referring to the actual but or the shaft diameter? Shafts can be tapered with a nut or straight(tapered is more likely for your boat). The real issues is not what shaft Grady uses but what n=make and model steering do you have. From there you would refer to the manufacturers specs.
Here is a link to a possible candidate
Note that for this model, the diameter of the threaded shaft is 5/8 inches.

Just was thinking. All you have to do is look at the existing nut or steering shaft and measure the diameter of the threaded shaft or the inside diameter of the existing nut. The new wheel should also have a tapered hole assuming you have a model of steering like the one I referenced

GW uses the Schmidt 15" wheel. Prob the best value out there for a SS wheel. Shoot GW Cust Service a line, I'm sure they can help.
