I am sure Daman858 has heard these fish as they crash back into the water. My wife Lynn Satterfield snapped this picture on the Wacammaw River at Georgetown, SC back in August on one of our river trips. Just above of the 17 bridge.

Ran into this two seasons ago in NY harbor. I didn't know what the heck I was seeing but it was pretty exciting. Then I went home and researched the phenomenon and read all kinds of horror stories about smashed boats and people from the fish crashing into them. The next time I saw the fish jumping, I kept my distance!
