This is in my opinion the absolute best way to replace the starboard side deck drains on a 2006 282 sailfish. I don’t know about other boats but I’d assume it could be done this way on other years and models. I read dozens of threads on this and didn’t find any information that I really agreed with. I know someone has done it this way before they just probably never posted about it. It was in my opinion incredibly easy to do this way. I was able to reach everything pretty easily. 6” deck plate from beckson part number dp65-36 ($40). Exact same plate they sell to Grady so everything matches. Drains I got off of boat outfitters for $110 for the pair. You can find them other places too. Used a cheap holesaw from Amazon and took my time letting the drill do the work. As you can see there is the edge of a support so your holesaw isn’t going to just fall through so be smart and realize when you are through the actual deck and not continuing to cut through that! If you wanted to get fancy you could even use a router to recess the plates like the others are. Don’t mind the missing trim, I got a little carried away with refreshing this old girl.
