My Father bought a 55 Homelite in 1962 for our 20' Winner Viscount.
Great motor( old Crosley 4 cyl turned vertical). Great torque and fuel economy. Extremely reliable with proper maintenance.
Later he sold the Winner without the motor, bought a 29' Drift R Cruise Houseboat, installed the Homelite and used it for at least an additional 7 years. Had a 13' Whaler as dinghy.
He was once featured in a Homelite ad in Popular Boating Magazine when a photo shoot of a Homelite powered 34' Drift R Cruise with a 16' Whaler took place near him. I still have the ad.
