Thinking Gulfstream

i really like the gulf with the twins on it. the lack of a transom door is a zonk but not a big one. the extra beam is the ticket. nice cockpit.

I do like that the 232 Gulfstream has a 9'3" beam whereas the 228 Seafarer only has an 8' beam. Which the 228 was wider as my 21' Arima only had an 8' beam and the cockpit area seemed a bit narrow with two larger people sitting shoulder to shoulder.

I see the OP has a 208 and looking to move up. I just purchased a 2016 232D with 200s but I have not picked it up yet. Previously I owned the 208 with a 250. I took a brief sea trial in calm water with the 232. The 232 ride seemed smooth and less rocky than my 208 (trolling solo in the 208 was always a small challenge) Will the 232 have a tougher ride then the 208 in rougher water?

We have a 2003 with a Yamaha F225. Plenty of power for us and maneuvering is no problem. The wide beam is the big plus. Very Stable. I enter the cabin going backwards down the steps. Considering replacing the porta potty with a marine head and holding tank.
