Hello - I have a 85 GW 257 Trophy Pro. I trailer it with a 2000 28' Performance aluminum dual axel trailer with surge breaks. Because Performance went out of business and the decal on the trailer has faded, I cannot find the trailer weight. Does anyone know what the trailer weight may be? I tow the boat/trailer with a 06 Dodge 1500 Ram 4x4 mega cab with helper springs and class V hitch. Should I consider a weight distribution system with sway control? I know the dry boat weight with motors total 4900 lbs add 1000lbs for fuel, 800 lbs gear and I am guessing 2500lbs trailer = 9300 lbs.
On a side note, I took her out for the first time, (towed with my brothers F350 diesel) last week and the rear bilge was pumping a gallon or so what every 10-15 minutes but I checked the hoses an no leaks. The motor mounts and every spot what could get in was well caulked. The hull is solid. Any thoughts on the tow and/or leak issue. Thanks
