I am mounting a transducer on my transom. I was planning on drilling a hole through the transom in order to lead the wire forward to the fishfinder. I noticed in the yard today that a lot of boats just run the wire up and over the motor well and then in through the boot hole that contains all the outboatd fuel and electric lines.

What do most of you who have transom mounted transducers do to lead your wires into the boat?

Thanks.

There are NO holes in my transom. In fact I even epoxied a piece of 5/4 pressure treated wood to the transom and screwed the transducer to it so I could avoid any holes.

If you can avoid a hole in the transom do it. If you have to make a hole there is not the end of the world, make sure you seal well with 4200 or even 5200.
