Transiting the Cape Cod canal

I am confused! I will be leaving Buzzards Bay and entering the West end of the canal. Can anyone help me. I want to know how I can figure out when the tide will be with me , that is flowing from west to east, Buzzards Bay to Cape Cod Bay?

Here's the NOAA page for tidal currents in the canal at the east end. Coming from Buzzards Bay you want to catch it at flood. I went thru one time in a trawler AGAINST the current and you don't want to do that unless you have lots of time and enjoy watching the shore go by.

Do you mean go through when flood begins at Buzzard Bay end, or Cape Cod Bay end? :hmm

There's not enough difference in time between the ends to worry about. And you have a window of 6 hours when it's in your favor, so pick a time. You get the most push about halfway through the window.

Max current is around 3.5-4 kts, so if you cruise at 15, it doesn't matter when you go. If you're a trawler, it makes a big difference. :uhm I guess Grady didn't make many trawlers...
