Transom replacement

Just informed my 89 W/A 208 has a " wet " but not completely rotted transom . Looking for suggestions and an rough estimate on replacing it . Thanks , Larry

just did mine as well. to get it done by shop plan on 5-6k, 4k if you find a budget marina.

to do yoursefl with the correct materials plan on around 1.5k at least for materials, buffer another 1k if you need shop tools (engine lift, air compressor, ect).

as a noob it took me 55 hours of my time to do the job, about 30 of that is demo and prepwork.

I am sure a shop can get it done in 20-30.

Surveyor told me my stingers were dry, how he could tell the outter ones were is beyind me. Once I got to the back I was able to drill into them and they were dry thank god. But I feel the only way to know the whole stringer is in good shape is to do the transom job from the inside.

If you planning on do a pourable like nida core follow look at cgmillers thread, thats the way to do it. you can get nida bond pouralbe and foam boards online. Not sure of the cost.
