I was hoping someone could guide me to purchasing new thru holes for my transom that have a flap to keep water from coming in

I'd replace the ones that you currently have with the style that Diad linked. They have the set screw holding the rubber flapper in place and are a bit easier to replace just the flapper as opposed to having to pull the entire thing off just to replace them.

Looks like a direct replacement using current holes. Seems like the way to go. SeaSense makes some nice products.

If you want to match the holes up take the scupper flap off and look for markings. I went thru this last year on mine. It's amazing how many scuppers look the same but don't match up. Don't remember which ones worked - out of town and no receipts handy.

I bought 4 new scuppers from Amazon and they fit perfect. My only problem is that on of the flaps won't close because the inner brass tube protrudes out to much. I saw a link how to replace the tubes so I think I will try this out.
Thanks for all the information.

Cut the old flap off and use as a gasket to extend it out. Thats what I did

I tried that but it the flap still sticks out. I ended up grinding down the brass that was sticking out just a bit. The flap still sticks out a tiny bit, but If I'm not mistaken, don't the all stick out a bit? Or should they lay completely flat?

Sometimes they stay open a little until water pressure closes them but they should not be pushed out by the tube

Save the old gaskets and use them with the new ones to add some space between the flop and the tube edge.

How much did you grind the bronze tube? That's very thin metal - there's not much to grind... which means you may very soon compromise your transom wood core. Be careful.

- Get an extra plastic ring and use that against the boat, first.
- Shim it out with washers or nuts and fill the space with goop.
- Get some gasket material from a local parts store and make your own.

Lot's of options.

The Sea Sense 2 7/8" white plastic and rubber scupper ones fit perfectly. Got em on Amazon.

I just looked the scuppers on my 2004 180, the seem to be bronze thru hulls with rubber flaps and they leak badly. If someone sits in one of the rear seats and inch of water will come into the boat.

Inside the bilge, these fittings are attached to 2 inch radiator hose, which then makes its way up to the drains in the cockpit, so they can't be removed.
Do I have any options with these? I suppose I could try changing the rubber flaps. Does anyone know of a manufacturer who makes a ball valve that's big enough to fit over the bronze escutcheon which is just under 3 inches?

I just replace the rubber scupper flaps before the start of every season and then pull them off at the end of the year so any residual water can drain out of them. When I first bought the boat, the rubber scupper flaps were of an unknown age and did the same thing where if someone stood in the rear corner of the boat, water would come pooling in. Since replacing mine every season, I haven't had that issue since then, and you can get replacements online for pretty cheap, I think a 3 pack is around $20 or less. Plus, it's cheap insurance to potentially avoid any issues that the old ones might give you. There's a million different ones that you can order online, especially on Amazon, but I'd go with a more reliable name like Perko, Gemlux, TH Marine or something similar. I believe, though don't quote me on it, that mine are a 1.5" flapper, and I imagine yours are likely as well. Though, I'd obviously double check before ordering.
