I recently purchased a Freedom 205. It's the first GW I've had and my question may have more to do with the difference between my last boat and this one (I had a Chapperel 23' inboard before). I have a Yamaha 150 and do not have the trim boards. I'm having a hard time with the trim to find out when the boat is planing. No matter the trim, the bow appears to be sitting up high and the engine feels like it's working too hard. All my components are from the GW factory.

Any thoughts? do the GW normally sit higher in the bow when planing than other boats? is it something wrong with the propeller that was installed?

What RPM are you getting on the motor? The boat should get on plane no problem. Could be a prop issue for sure as long as you know the engine is getting full RPM (no fuel/spark problems).

Do you have the motor trimmed all the way down when you get up on plane? If the motor is trimmed out/up, the bow will rise when you take off.....
