Hi Everyone, I recently purchased a Minn Kota 72" 112lb thrust Terrova trolling motor for my 1999 Escape 209. I am in the process of figuring out the best placement. Right now I am leaning towards having it go straight off the bow pulpit (see picture). The board I placed in the photo is the same length as the motor. The other option would be off the starboard bow (2nd picture). I have a quick release bracket also. The second option would most likely require a bracket underneath the quick release so it can clear the gunwale. My questions:

1. I have noticed that most TMs are mounted slightly off center on the bow of CCs. Are there any disadvantages to going straight off the centerline of the bow, that is directly off the bow pulpit.
2. Has anyone else mounted TMs on the bow of their GW and willing to share tips/suggestions.

BTW, I am placing the Li battery (36v 100ah) inside the console and running the wiring up thru the anchor locker. I know with both setup options the anchor locker will be covered however I can remove the motor via the quick release if needed to access the anchor for an emergency situation.

Thanks
Pete

Off center is to retain best use of the pulpit and anchor - especially a boat that stores the anchor on the pulpit. Seems like in your case, it's not a high priority, so you're good to go.

Sounds like you're on top of things - it's all pretty straight forward regardless of the boat. Mount it up and go fishin'!
