Have a 2007 33 Express started the Generator for the first time this year and it fired right up. ran for a little I noticed was not spitting water so was going to shut it off and it shut itself off. water intake valve is open so tried to start it again. Fired right up again ran for a little no water discharging again and then shut itself off. Anyone have this happen to start the season?

It will shutdown automatically for an overheat. No water = overheat. If the boat has been on the hard over the winter could be a clogged intake. Check inlet strainer bowl for water or clogs and you may try priming the strainer with a hose. If not clogged and full of water, look at the water pump belt and impeller. Not easy to reach. There are some tricks to changing the impeller and belt, look for other threads that can provide ideas to make it easier.

These studs make the job easier. Once you see where the impeller cover is located you will understandFP Gen Studs.jpg
