Twin F225 (2003) Question!

Hi!
We have twin f225s on our 282 Sailfish and we left it in all winter in Stamford CT.
The weird thing about it is when we go and try to start up the motors after not having run them for at least a couple weeks, one starts without a problem, and the other wont start unless we put the batteries on both. This is the second season for the batteries and we even have the boat plugged in to shore power, so what is the problem? Thanks for any and all feedback!

Not enough info to suggest a reason. Does the second motor crank as strongly as the first? What actually happens when on one battery? Have you tried battery 2 by itself?
Have you tried pumping the primer bulb before starting?What voltage does the volt meter show when idling at high idle ( 100-1500 revs)? Does it differ when battery 2 selected vs battery 1? ( Don't switch through OFF).

My suggestion: Check closely your battery cable connections. All of them. Because they can "look" good (but may not), it's healthy to remove them all, dry, sand paper, and clean them, then re-install. My guess is a poor connection somewhere. 2nd guess - dead battery. Good luck and you WILL figure this out.
