Under Bow access?

Freedom 285. Right front speaker not working. I hooked up another speaker to confirm it was not the speaker. It has to be a wiring issue. Left front is working so I'm thinking bout running a short wire to daisy chain the right off the left. I realize it is not going to be high fidelity, but a lil extra/balanced sound is my goal. I am not at the boat currently so my question being...is it a fairly open area up front under the bow area? Thnx

Maybe not a good idea. Connecting two speakers in parallel will halve the ohm load seen by the stereo or amp. That can cause overload and potential damage.
I would confirm that the speaker signal is present at the stereo head end before anything else and go from there.
You can also ohm out the feeds at the stereo head end by disconnecting the speaker feed and measuring the resistance of the speaker and wiring. If the wiring has an open, the multi meter will read OL of a very high resistance. If there is a good circuit, the meter will read a relatively low resistance. You can ohm out one of the working channels also to see what a good circuit looks like.

I am going to take your advice and check the signal at the radio. It is a brand new Garmin 670 radio so I'm sure it's going to be good there It might just be some wiring to the speaker which if that's the case then I'll probably just use the existing wire that's there and pull a new wire through. Thanks again
