We have a 2000 GW Adventure 208 with hard top and rails. I am looking for a cover that attaches under the top but covers the boat. This is mostly for use when the boat is on the trailer or lift, We have used a storage cover that goes over the top but it's a pain to install so we only use it for long term storage.
Looking for recommendations, sources, advice.
Thanks.

There was a helm cover option for the 208. It does not hang from the hardtop but attaches to the top of the windshield, the sides of the helm and then over the seats an finally snapped to the outside of the helm seat lockers. It is pretty good at diverting rain and keeping the helm dry. Obviously, if you have electronic equipment hung from the hard top, that won't be protected. The helm cover is specific to model years. A good canvas shop can make one. You might be able to find a company that made them originally and still has the patterns

The snap-on helm cover that Seasick mentioned is going to be the easiest to put on and the least costly to buy/make. Note that if you find a company that can make it for you, you will still need to attach the snaps to the cover to match what's on your boat... and/or add snaps to the boat if needed. If you have a local upholster make it for you, they'll do the whole thing.

Attaching under the hardtop edge is totally doable - I'm pretty sure it's only going to be available through a local upholsterer, though.

Can we assume you have a Keder rail under the hardtop for your curtains? Obviously, you'll use the same Keder rail insert for a hanging cover.

I am not sure I would take the chance that a new helm cover wouldn't fit but the factory helm cover uses the same snap locations as the factory front, side, and drop curtains. I am trying to remember who made the covers for Grady in 2000.

Getting the covers all at the same time - that would make sense. But when a cover is bought after the fact (whether OEM or whatever), covers will need the snaps to be installed to align with where the snaps where placed on the boat. There is no "pattern" for this. When they're made all at the same time, they simply install snaps in the covers to mate to where someone installed them on the boat.
