VHF

The send and receive quality on the VHF is very scratchy. The aerial was replaced but the same condition still exists. The next candidate for replacement is the VHF unit. Any other suggestions on the problem/solution before I replace the unit?

I would make sure there's a good, clean connection between the coax and the radio. If you've replaced the antenna did you have to cut the connector before attaching it to the radio? If so, you might check to make sure the new connector is okay.

Try borrowing someone's radio to see if it is your radio or the connections that are causing your problem.

People who received their television stations through antennas they would need a VHF antenna to receive the signals.

:uhm I'm pretty sure it's a marine radio problem ...

People who received their television stations through antennas they would need a VHF antenna to receive the signals. You should place the antenna where it would be free to move. I think you should also tighten the coaxial cable to get a secure & quality reception...
