Over the wknd was down a mile or so off Tangier Island. Stopped my boat and let it drift while I was rigging up some parachute rigs to troll around Tangier Light. VA Marine Police came at a fairly high rate of speed and pulled alongside. I asked him if something was wrong, he said just seeing if you're OK. Gave me some tips on where to fish, did not even check paperwork. The trooper was a perfect gentleman, and I wish I could say the same for the Coast Guard in Crisfield, MD. Maybe one day they'll go out on the water and play lifeguard instead of making people pull over for annoying safety checks. Esp after you've been checked by the CG Auxilliary.
