Hello everyone. I have a 2001 282 sailfish and my toilet macerator pump out has stopped working. Does anyone know how to get to the pump to replace it?

My 1994 pump in in the tank. . not sure if they move it , but look under the rear berth deck panels and the tank should be there. It's a messy job working on the pump.

That is where the tank is. Pump in mounted inside and accessible through the top of the tank.

Pulled mine out and it looked like this - seized as well. I was going to throw it away, but an hour later it was purring - smooth and strong, bearings felt like new. It was probably replaced not that long ago, as everything looked fine once it was cleaned up. I've heard that it can be a nasty job, but it wasn't bad on this one - apparently the holding tank just had old water in it. I read about this, and as people said the common problem is/was seized pump. It tripped the breaker when I turned it on - but a good deep cleaning was all the system needed. Works like a charm now.

I’ll check it out, thanks.

I read about this, and as many people said the only problem was seized pump. It followed the normal protocol - triped the breaker when you try to turn it on - but a good cleaning was all the system needed. Works like a charm now.

Thanks for the pics.

Scary looking, isn't it? I really was going to toss it. I forgot to get an "After" shot - a lot nicer looking!

Yeah it is. I imagine mine looking the same.

Holy shite batman, that is nasty!

Yeah, it looks like there’s no possible way of cleaning it up, but that stuff just fell right off. Shine right up. I really wish I’d taken another pic but I’m not willing to open it back up LOL.
