Not getting any water flow from tell-tale.I disconnected the hose from grommet on engine cowl and no flow from there either.Boat runs fine no alarm or other issues.Impeller less than a year old.I'm thinking restriction is in that area.Motor is 2000 SX 200 (old but they run great)I can trace that hose only so far.Any ideas on where i should be looking for potential clog or where this hose goes(I.m referring to the hose that leads to the grommet on outside of cowl. Thanks

As you are probably surmising, it's likely nothing to immediately worry about as the telltale really has nothing to do with getting proper water flow through the engine. Without being there it's hard to say exactly where the other end of the hose is - I have two similar engines to yours, but am not near them. Just keep following the hose or look at a parts diagram. It's pretty basic - so I think once you take a little more time to investigate on your own, you'll figure it out. Then you check for clogs at that point, as well. Or, you could try running weedwacker string through it and/or blowing it out with something like PB blaster and some air.

Are you saying that with the flush port stored in normal operation and with the motor running in the water , there is no telltale flow?

That is not normal and needs to be researched.

When using the flush port, engine off and a garden hose, no telltale is common. There just isn't enough flow especially when using a long garden hose or one of the shrinking hose models.

A decent test for flow is to connect the flush port and start the engine with the lower unit up and out of the water. Do not rev the motor, just idle. The telltale should flow but it could take s bit if time to start flowing. Poor flow can be a lot of things, blockages, pinched tubing or a stuck open poppet valve.
