I need to replace the hoses that fill the oil tanks at the engine from the remote tank. What type of hose do i need?

That depends on the type of motor you have and the diameter of the hose. My suggestion is this. Purchase the replacement that is specified by the manufacturer of your outboard. I have a 1994 Evinrude, and when it came time to replace the VRO supply line, I purchased an OMC replacement. You may have to pay an extra couple of bucks, but it is well worth it. Good luck!

The engines are 1987 yamaha 150 2-strokes. I was able to get all the hoses for the engines and oil tanks and the filters from yamaha. The hose that goes from the remote oil tank to the engine oil tank is no longer available. Looks to be 1/4" inside diameter hose. I need to know what type of hose should i use?

That's what i was thinking but wanted to make sure before i ordered some. Marine rated fuel hose ain't cheap...lol

Any correctly sized marine hose (fuel) is fine. The pump is very low pressure. The real concers are how well the hose will stand up to flexing and exposure to the elements.
I know that marine fuel hose is expensive but it will be less expensive than the OEM part if you could get it:)
Although can use good marine clamps as long as they are fuel line rated and all stainless.(avoid the cheap clamps) If you are rigged with plastic ties, that is the way to go as long as you get the fuel line type. The end where the catch is has a molded lip that forms to the hose. They are critical for a good seal especially for smaller diameter hoses. I doubt you have pinch clips on the oil lines but you might. If so, get ready for sticker shock if you buy them from Yamaha!

You aren't kidding! I get it that it's not being sold in high quantities, so the price goes up. And I'm OK with that - I like buying local whenever possible, even if it's a bit higher of a price. But, geesh! Those clamps are just outrageously priced. I get my Oeticker clamps from McMaster - MUCH less.

Currently everything is secured with zip ties. Even the new oil filters came with zip ties

Just make sure you get zip ties for fuel lines. Thay are different than the standard ones and as mentioned, it makes a difference for smaller sized hoses.
