What is a 228 windshield worth?

I think Taylor Made is the original manufacturer of the windshields? I would try calling them up, ask what one sells for brand new if they still have that info on a 228 Seafarer, or if not then use a 232 Gulfstream and price accordingly. I imagine one in used condition is still going to be at least $1,000-$1,500 at the bare minimum, especially since your boat is only a few years old at this point.

I think more than that. A friend of mine had a pilot house done on his 228 so he sold his. The guy who bought had insurance so they agreed that whatever the insurance would pay out, my friend would get. He got $4800 and that was a few years ago.

I mean you could try listing it on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, Offer Up or other websites for whatever price you'd like and see if you get any interested parties. Or you could even try putting it on eBay or something similar and see if it gets bid on. There isn't a ton to compare it to out there, though there is a 2017-2021 GW 330 Express windshield currently on eBay with a "Buy It Now or Best Offer" price of $2,750. Not exactly an apples to apples comparison though, and that's why I said a minimum of $1,000-$1,500... for the right buyer you might be able to get a few thousand dollars. Ask member JJMag on here what he sold his for... as he did a similar pilot house to yours and I believe he sold off the windshield as well as the old hardtop, etc.

Then I'd definitely be going off of something closer to that number for sure, especially since he has real world experience selling the exact same thing and likely no one else on here does....

I think the issue you may run into is that it’s unlikely to sell anywhere except CA. Shipping would be a challenge otherwise. And so, a limited market of potential buyers. May be a needle in a haystack to find the right buyer. Maybe a trade might be an option.

Yep. But I live on 19 acres, storing it until someone wants it is not a problem.
