what to replace the carpet with on a offshore 24

I had to remove the carpet that was on the sides of the cockpit area. Replace with carpet or something else?

I really hate the way that stuff looks. I'm also thinking of what can be done to replace it.

I guess vinyl would be an easy choice. Easier to keep clean, too. A dark (black maybe) outdoor carpet might be another good alternative to the blue color - it would at least just fade into the background, so to speak. I would imagine carpet might do a better job at keeping vibration noises at bay.

I was thinking of going with foam backed marine vinyl. I also removed most of the monkey fur out of the cabin and was gonna installed foam backed vinyl. Any idea what type of glue to use??
