Where can I buy original Grady-White parts; looking to add cockpit step on 2024 Freedom 255

I am in the process of finalizing on a lightly-used Freedom 255 (and am really excited).
Previous owner’s selected options almost exactly as I’d have done, but not the cockpit step.
I’d like to buy and install one.
Is G-W where I should start? And is the installation pretty straightforward?

Per Google, it looks as though Grady White actually designed/had their cockpit step manufactured specifically for them, and imagine it's likely not sold by other companies or whatnot. If you're wanting that exact part, I'd check with your local Grady White dealership and see if they have one in stock. There's a previous thread on the matter from 3 years ago and I believe the step from the dealership was $1,400 at that time, which seems rather steep. I've seen a few guys use fold up/down footrests and other things for boarding steps, which would also considerably cheaper than that $1,400 price tag. Good luck!

If it's a relatively new boat, your local dealer will be able to get it. But you might also ask them if it was actually a custom made unit... or an off the shelf unit from a third party. For example, Google for Garelick cockpit step as an idea.

Yikes! That’s a hefty cost (but a could idea to ask dealer).
I suspect I can conjure something less $$$.
