I've had Seafarers with both type of hulls. The Sea-V2 is a far superior ride. It's both softer and drier.There are some low speed handling issues that you need to get used to, but once you get over them it's no big deal.
Because of potential wood rot issues, it's best to go with the most recent hull. You can always re-power.
