Hello all, I just acquired my first Grady, a '91 Dolphin 250. I have my list of upgrades to keep me busy till spring and was hoping for a little guidance. I plan on installing a windlass and I believe this boat came pre-wired from GW. I can see some 8 gauge wire in the anchor locker and I was curious if anyone knows where those wires terminate.

They probably terminate at the fuse panel but it is possible that they run all the way aft to the battery switch compartment. Oftentimes there was a breaker at the helm for the windlass and that was powered off of the main fuse panel buss
Be aware that many of the newer model windlasses may draw more amps than the original options. The 8 gauge wire may or may not be adequate.

The wire for the windlass is heavy gage. My understanding is it runs all the way to the batteries. I'd check with GW and see what they pre-rigged (if anything)...
