Is there any harm to leaving the prop on all winter? Boat is stored outside in the Northeast - shrinkwrapped.

you can leave it on should not be a problem , but grease the shaft splines.

There is allot of theft in my area latley so I leave it off. , as long as your not worried some one will steal it leave it on.

I had an old 140 Johnson in 1991 and some scumB*g was able to take the whole lower unit.
Hell, give em enough time they willl take an entire engine...
lesson learned there, always leave the boat right up front for all to see.

It will be fine. At some time, you should pull it, look for anything wrapped around the shaft, check for leakage, clean and grease the splines.

Its easy enough to do, pull it for peace of mind, it wont be stolen from your basement or garage.

Like the above poster, then you can check to see if there is any fishing line wrapped around it. Its also a good time to look for any dings or nicks, etc.
