Wood bunks on trailer

I have a 283 release that I trailer a lot , thinking about replacing the wood bunks with aluminum ones. Has anyone done this what is your opinion , and were can I find aluminum bunks.

What issues are you experiencing with the wood bunks? Or is it that your current bunks are old and need replacing and you came across the aluminum?

Although I have not seen the aluminum bunks, my initial reaction is that its sounds a little scary. I expect the wood to be a little more forgiving. If there was a nick or gouge in the bunk, the aluminum with scratch the hull. But maybe they have that figured out.
