What issues are you experiencing with the wood bunks? Or is it that your current bunks are old and need replacing and you came across the aluminum?
Although I have not seen the aluminum bunks, my initial reaction is that its sounds a little scary. I expect the wood to be a little more forgiving. If there was a nick or gouge in the bunk, the aluminum with scratch the hull. But maybe they have that figured out.
