I fish salmon in Lake Michigan. For years I had an old well worn 18’ Lund that was all I could afford. It had many many problems but was reliable. I bought it for $3,300, it was in an accident and had a “totaled” titled. You get the picture. I rigged it with what I could afford to spend. My wife and I were just married and had our first child. It got me out fishing. As time past, and we had two more children. We were blessed. My priority was my family, and I found less and less time to fish. The boat was also deteriorating each year. For years I would look at Grady Whites online. The seafarer was my favorite. I would dream of fishing out of this boat. No exaggeration, I’ve drooled over this seafarer nearly 20 years.

Well, my kids are a bit older now. Our finances are a bit healthier. My father and I bought a 2001 seafarer 226 together. It actually happened. The fun we have already had this summer has been great. I just love this boat.

Dan...great story. I had a sea nymph 16' that I've used but missed my time on Lake Erie in a more seaworthy craft. Prior to "real life" after college, my parents had a 25' Tiara and then a 34' Luhrs. I spent summers on the water and worked on charter boats. After college, life started and boats went away until I found the sea nymph.

After 20 years of no "big boat" I came across my Seafarer in a facebook ad. Motor was blown. $2800 later she was mine and the fun began. Did a total restoration on it and we've been having a ton of fun since 2018. Congratulations! Looking forward to more pictures!

Awesome! The wait makes it so much nicer. I never dreamed of owning a boat like this... to me, these are the epitome of "fishing boats"...but... all in due time heh.

That is an awesome flat lake in the pic.. can't ask for better ;)

Post more pics!:)
