Looks great for the smaller rigs. Less weight than a 200 HPDI with oil tank.

Yep. It's gonna run me 18,000 usd including fl tax with full rigging and square yamaha command link gauges. I did sell my old motor which was running perfect so that offsets me a couple of thousand.

Is it 18k after your old motor trade in or before? Any idea of what performance might be (in nautical mpg) on your 208?

With my 150 ox66 it seems like I get about 2 - 2.2 mpg no matter what the load...if I could get into the 4's this engine could be a game changer!
 
No 18.5 before applying my old motor. So 15 out of pocket. The GW website shows 3.9 to 4.1 mpg at cruise on the V6 200. According to yamaha reps this motor should exceed the fuel efficiency of the 3.3L. I had a carb 150 yami and I needed more speed and was also doing 2.1-2.3 regardless of load.

I keep my boat wet slipped year round so with the amount of use I have been giving it fuel costs have become a factor.
 
I'm taking delivery of new Freedom 225 with one of the old 6 cyl 200's. I couldn't afford a bigger engine. When I asked if it would have the new 4 cyl F200 the dealer said they are not recommending the new 4 cyl F200's until they get some history behind them. They said the 6 cyl F200 has been around a long time with a very good history. Plus they are not too sure the 4 cyl 200 will have enough "ass" there words not mine. My old boat had a 200 OX-66 and it had plenty of ass for my Parker 21 deep vee wac. I home the 6 cyl 200 is enough for my F225
