"I sure wish I had gone with smaller motors"... said no one. Ever.
As long as everyone is buckled up, there should be nothing to worry about.I’m planning to buy a 265 with 300s, is that overkill?
It may be overkill, I’m sure some testing and videos will be out soon. I felt the 300’s looked a bit out of place on the back. Talking to the guy from GW he said the 300’s weren’t even intended to be on it but dealers said they needed it with 300’s.I’m planning to buy a 265 with 300s, is that overkill?

Not long ago a 60 mph speedometer would have sufficed to sell only the 200s. Maybe a sticker on the Garmin showing a 60 mph "for reference only" would be enough to satisfy the more is never enough buyer?Talking to the guy from GW he said the 300’s weren’t even intended to be on it but dealers said they needed it with 300’s.
Man, that looks really cramped. Doesn't look like there is any room for those things to turn.It may be overkill, I’m sure some testing and videos will be out soon. Yeah...I'm really not sure about those 300s.Not long ago a 60 mph speedometer would have sufficed to sell only the 200s. Maybe a sticker on the Garmin showing a 60 mph "for reference only" would be enough to satisfy the more is never enough buyer?
250s don't improve performance much due to the weight and size of the gear case, so 300 it is. If you boat in conditions where you can nearly hit 60 in an open boat, maybe save $100k plus and buy a pontoon?
I could have put 250s on my boat, but didn't. I have no regrets with 400 horsepower. The smaller footprint of four-cylinder engines makes for a much less cramped and cluttered transom, especially if you are in and out of the water.Yeah...I'm really not sure about those 300s.
