    Electrical problem at key switches?

On my 94 Sailfish, I've got three batteries (one house, one for each of the two engines). Each of the engines will start and trim as long as its switch is pointed to "1" or "both." However, if I turn either engine switch to "2" -- although the gauge lights display and the initial three beeps...

    94 Sailfish issues?

May be moot if already sold as you suggested but be sure so look for transom separation. I just replaced mine. Not saying this was necessarily a defect...probably just old age in my case. Cost about 3,500 and thankfully, my insurance covered it. I also know of another forum user who replaced the...

Replacing Duratrim on a '91 Grady

Although this doesn't answer you question of replacement, it does address upkeep. It's a quote from the GW website. My personal experience is below that. Link: http://www.gradywhite.com/faq/#faq03 "Q: How do I restore the look of my boat’s simulated wood-grain Duratrim? A: On our older...

A way to run the Norcold TekII frige on AC power?

Any suggestions how to run my frige on shore power? There is an AC outlet near it on my 94 Sailfish. Maybe I can tap into it with a converter of some type. Obviously, I would still want battery power to it when on the water. I could probably accomplish this by using a converter in conjunction...

    power tilt problems 94 sailfish

I'm sure you're smarter than this but I'll mention it anyway. Maybe someone engaged the engine's manual support lever. That's probably not likely though since your engine's going down half-way.

Oil tank access and/or livewell removal

On the starboard engine of my 94 Sailfish, the 2-cycle oil reservoir hit the low level. The alarm sounded as it should. However, I couldn't pump oil into it using the emergency switch on the rear of the engine. I'm going to assume it's the pump in the main oil tank unless anyone has a better...

    Manual head operation for dummies

Ok, I've confirmed the procedure. Also, as was suggested above, the fix will be a rebuild kit. Glad I've got one coming; a five-gallon bucket gets old after awhile  What would really be nice is if someone could offer a tip on changing the manual pump to an electric one without a whole...

    Manual head operation for dummies

Lol, yeah we're using other water sources. But you are correct in that now, it won't pump in or out. I'm pretty sure its a seal/gasket thing but is the procedure listed above correct?

    Trim indicator problem

An oversight on my part. You are correct and I'll change the original post.

    Manual head operation for dummies

I'll claim to be the dummy. Please feel free to correct/sharpen my operational understanding of the manual head in my boat. 1. Use the head. 2. On the seacock just starboard of the keel under the cabin floor, lift the valve handle to the vertical position. (The seacock just port of...

    Trim indicator problem

My trim indicators for both engines always display figure A no matter what position they're in. Any ideas? Figure A 5 4 3 2 1 ██ (This is a black box for those of you whose computers may not show these ASCII characters)

    RPM Limiter / Overheat signal

just-in-time....I have a 94 sailfish sportbridge with twin 200 Yamahas. If you were referring to the type/model of gauge, my panel is a three gauge configuration. Left and right gauges are for the port and starboard engines respectively that indicate rpm, trim, oil, and temperature. The center...

    RPM Limiter / Overheat signal

BobP........ After dwelling further on your question, I guess I cannot rule out a false alarm. It is my understanding that when an engine runs hot (on my boat anyway), - the rpm limiter kicks in to keep from burning up the engine (this it noticeable as the engine begins to run rough if...

    RPM Limiter / Overheat signal

I knew it was hot when the rpm limiter kicked in. When this happens, the engine starts running REALLY rough if you're above 2K RPM (according to my mechanic). He also said when that happens, come back to idle for a minute or two to let the engine cool, then go again. So, the limiter did its job...
