Turns out there were two problems the display was bad I found a used one and can now turn it on/off & get into the program mode but unit would still not cool or produce heat. Had a tech come out unit was charged w R22 but said the compressor was bad. Found the same 7k model used a 2011 vs 2004...

@athomp228 thanks for the link my display might be bad as I can’t get into program mode, reset with the power down buttons or switch to heat from cool. Also had a tech come out who said there was freon but the LP & HP ports read the same he concluded compressor is bad. I’m thinking reversing...

@PDX-Boats Did you ever find a drop in replacement for your A/C? My 300 Marlin’s Marine Air Sys/Dometic pn: VRD7K-GW kicked the bucket and every model offered has the compressor & return opposite of this old design. No room for return venting as it butts up against the wall.

Have an 04 Marlin tried the A/C during the heat wave we’re having it was running, set to cold & pumping water but not putting out cold air. I know the unit is behind the fridge. Has anyone tried recharging it? Can I use the same coolant u can buy at an auto parts store? Thanks
