    270 islander

Thanks for the info. Buying a 13 year old boat with 100 hours on it is scary. The owner has had the fuel tank lines all cleaned out including the injectors. I've talked to the mechanic working on it right now and he had to replace the high pressure fuel pumps in both engines and he will be...

    Electronics for a 2003 270

Congradulations on your second retirement :dance You put the best engines for economy on your boat according to data Grady sent me., You should get 45mph top speed with about 1300 pounds of gears people on board. I'm not familiar with any of those models but thanks for taking the time to list...

    270 islander

Thanks for the advice. This boat has corrosion and the owner has agreed to split the cost of the upgrade with me. He has also had the whole fuel system taken apart cleaned flushed and new high pressure fuel pumps installed in botjh engines. Means the boat costs me $1300 more but it should be...

    multifunction displays

None that i know of I currently use my netbook but am thinking of experimenting with a nice 12-15 inch monitor for use with opencpn, ais with possible radar over lays. Furuno has a very nice pc based system sold in Europe for ..I think around 10,000. I think they are playing with this concept...

    270 islander

I'm buying a 270 and i want to know how fast a 270 will go with T225 4 stroke yams and at what rpm? My boat will be a 2003 with a little over 100 hours. Boat has sat on a lift all its life and its taking lots of work to get her rnning properly and i wish to know what i'm seeing is proper for...

    multifunction displays

I'm tired of MFD's and thinking of going back to dedicated displays. Radar, sounder, chart plotter each separate. This will end that switching back and forth and allow all info visable at a glance. Likely will use opencpn for chart plotter and ais. What do you think of this idea? Thanks Britt

Don't try to patch it. Welding will work if your an expert but i tried marine tex on a johnson and it worked for a bit and then i was cruising along and the engine died and it wouldnt restart. After trying many things and trying to start it for a half hour or so i decided to see if it wasn't a...

    Electronics for a 2003 270

Thanks. Is that your Grady in the pix? I've seen her before somewhere. A beautiful boat. You have 150's? From the test data that grady has sent me thats id the best package for fuel economy. Mine has twin F225's. Two years ago i saw a 268 with 2 stroke outboards in San Deigo and almost bought...

    Electronics for a 2003 270

I've been looking for two years for a 270 and finally bite the bullet and bought one 3000 miles away in Florida. They just don't come up for sale on the west coast for some reason. I've seen them so i know they are out here but they don't often come up for sale. Anyway, now I am a proud owner of...

    Is Grady Quality still There?

another point i wish to make. I'm 70 and seen lots of boat companies come and go over the years some of whom needed to go and others like Down East Yatchs of Santa Anna Ca., Uniflite, to name a couple I would like to still have around. Both those companies were owned by a no compromise quality...
