So 15 years because of water intrusion. Is this less of a problem with composite boat, and where is the water typically leak from?

I believe the edgewater is wood free...could make a difference if your looking to hold onto for the long haul.

Obviously make sure you bed those properly...you'll have a mess on your hands if those leak slowly over time.

As a general question, what would an expected life span of a Grady hull be? Assuming that you don't undertake a project and replace stringers, transoms, etc, properly maintained of course. Obviously it can be infinite, if you pour money into it. There seems to a number of mfg's that offer...

Does anybody know what size (part number) the hydraulic assist arm (or whatever you call it) is on the starboard side passenger seat locker is? One of those items I have on list to take care of on the off-season, but boat was wrapped without a door. Looking to wait as long as possible before...

I have not done this, but it is on my list. Sounds like you have it right on the money...I would wonder if the fuel flow is not enough to give a reading at 6kts - jump on plane and see what happens. Also use google - there are a number of articles on this.

I would agree to try some props first. I have the same issues with my 265express - obviously smaller boat, but same hull design, motors, etc. Called Ken at Prop Gods - suggested the 17" Rev 4's. Waiting for them...but anxious to see how it works out.

I had started that thread (can't find it either). One of the members here sent me a few, but I needed some more. I went to the local Grady dealer and had them in stock. Apparently it is something they run into all the time.

Anyone try 17" rev 4's? I am anxious to here a report!

What brand did you end up going with on the replacement? Now that I have had several people tell me the same thing (including the Grady Dealer). I should put something in that works.
