    1999 Grady 272 Transom

Barbender, Just a heads up. Be wary of any boat of that age which has bottom paint. I’ve owned four Grady’s and many whalers, makos, and Parker’s. The bottom line here of is if bottom paint is present , then boat was probably kept in the water and has had time to marinate. And it’s not good for...

    Getting close 1983 seaferor

Wow, awesome project. It’s great keeping these classic hulls still up and running. 225 hp is plenty for this hull. I had a 92’ 228 with a 225 and it was perfect.

    Looks awesome.

    First boat

Whatever boat you get , I suggest a 23’ as the right size for the use you have described. After owning many boats, 23’s are small big boats that do it all safely, comfortably, and efficiently.

    Leaking fuel tanks 306 Bimini

I could not imagine doing all this work twice. What a mess. Thanks for taking care of the boat and doing it right.

Pulling the trigger on a pilot house on the 228

Not to derail this thread but here is a photo of a 226 with a pilot house. This may be by the same fabricator. Either way, this looks pretty sharp and proportional. Matching the Grady color is the way to go. Less glare and eye strain compared to white.

Pulling the trigger on a pilot house on the 228

This is an awesome project. Grady white ride with enclosure. I’ve been thinking of doing this exact thing. I’ll post some photos of pilot house Grady’s that I’ve seen over the years on a different thread. FYI- I’m sick of the isenglass on my islander. That aluminum pilot house work looks top...

We are new Grady White owners. We bought a 1978 Nassau 212-C.

Wow. That’s a project and a trip. I like the steering wheel.

Shore power on a 268 Islander

M My islander has shore power and an AC side to the panel.

    2001 268 Islander very unstable.

I run a 99 islander with the stepped up transom which is the old model. I run twin 150 four stroke. I did remove the rear fuel tank to center the weight in the boat. I run heavy with 125 gallons of gas, 10 of water , three guys and gear and a 40 gallon livewell and ice. Had sea or beam sea is...

    268 Islander Fuel Tank Replacement

Nice job. I also have an Islander. I decided I only needed one tank with a repower of more efficient engines. It looks like you will be set for a long time. Thanks for posting all this.

1999 268 sink valve thread size.

Does anyone know what thread size these balances are from 1999? The scandvik hose fits the sink / shower wand and has a 3/8 female. I have. A 3/8 male coupler but it seams big for this female valve connection.

1996 Grady Islander Stringer rot repair

Boat yoga. Islanders are hard to work on. Only boat I ever worked on where I had to stand on my head with my feet in the air. Nice job with the stringer. The boats are good. Thanks for keeping her sea worthy.
