    Fuel Sender and Ski Pylon

Hi guys , Two part question, can someone tell me the part number (or at least the length) of the fuel sender for a 2011 Freedom 255? I will remove it and check but I figured it was worth a shot to ask. More importantly - what does everyone do to plug the hole left in the transom once the ski...

How much corrosion expected in 2005 Yamaha 225hp with 650hrs?

I'd be wary of the thermostat housing rotting issue as well. They notoriously fail within a few inches of the thermostat leaving a 1/2" sized hole at the top of the block. Lost my ' '06 225 to water ingestion when it failed last year.

    Which Freedom 255/275/285

Bigger is always better but the budget always wins - I moved down from a 27' Polar CC to the 255 Freedom this year. First Grady and I am impressed with the ride. There is no pounding at all. I routinely take it on 25-mile trips with confidence. As Capt Bill said above, hardtop, fuel, water...

Hey Gull, Rusty and I spoke about sound systems on a different thread. I just completed a full installation of a Fusion system on my 25 Freedom and it sounds amazing. I went with (6) Fusion 6.5" Signature Series 3 speakers, 1400W 4-channel amp and MA-70 head unit. I haven't had much time to...

    New VHF Options

I hear you Smoky!! I going to go with the ICOM 400BB and purchase the external speaker as well. You guys were a big help - didn't realize I was looking for a 'black box' VHF until this thread. Thanks again!

    New VHF Options

Hi Dennis - Yes an No. It turns on and the handheld changes channels, but I get no call in or call out. If I were to troubleshoot it, I'd obviously start with the cord due to its condition. Whether that fixes it or not is another story. What are you doing for a cord replacement?

    New VHF Options

Hadn't even considered a handheld to this point! I'm in the Western Long Island Sound, NY I can run 20 miles East and West and still have land within 1-3 miles North and South of me at all times. Thanks for the suggestion.

    New VHF Options

Thanks for the responses guys! I should’ve elaborated - I am looking for a VHF that will be a direct replacement, component wise, for the Northstar. For example, the Garmin 315 has a very similar sized speaker, handset, and a hideaway head unit I’d rather not have to cover the hole that the...

    New VHF Options

Hi Guys, Does anyone have a good replacement unit for the Northstar NS100 that came standard on the 2011 models? (See Picture #1 attached) The Garmin 315 looks like a direct replacement but I don't want to cough up $600+ for a VHF when I'm only going 1-2 miles from land. Also, Picture #2 -...

    Freedom 255 rigging tubes

Definitely, bigger will never hurt. Less wasted energy, longer battery life. Good luck with the rest of your build. Let me know how you make out mounting the Subwoofer in the gunwhale. I'll post some pictures once mine is finished. Got a bunch of lighting upgrades to show off as well.

    Freedom 255 rigging tubes

1/0 should be more than enough cross-sectional area for the system. Its important to keep impedance as close to zero from the battery to the amp. Any impedance is lost power/battery draw that you cannot get back. Rusty I thought that was your install for a moment! I wish we had the real-estate...

    Freedom 255 rigging tubes

Rusty Sounds great - I'm going with 6.5 Fusion Signature Series 3 speakers all around with a 1500W 4-channel signature series Amp. Running each set of speakers in parallel and the fourth will be for my amp. Considering a 10" sub below the head unit/cup holder area down near the floor. I am...
