The 2224-7TD stands for 22' to 24' and 7,000 lb capacity with TieDown spindles. They used to stamp it all out on the I-beam back when I bought the trailer you traded in. That trailer, and your new one, seems to be perfect for the 228.
Wow. Good thing I "dumped" my 228 on KY Grady. I didn't realize I had been using the wrong boat for 10 years. 10 great years. I never made the run from Key West to the Tortugas (wanted to) but I made the run from Everglades City to Key West many times. My 228 had the 146 gallon tanks (total).

That's not the bilge. The switch is well above deck level. I'm not sure how that beam/shelf attaches to the transom, but I don't think I would consider it to be part of the actual transom. Definitely worth having your inspector check it out though.
Just a temporary hiatus. My son is headed off to college and he was always my first mate. It would be sitting more than running for the next 4 years if we kept it. And that just didn't seem right. We'll get another Grady at some point. In the meantime I'll live vicariously through Ky Grady...
