    Signing off...

As many of you know, I have had a couple of cardiac issues over the last two years; a blocked cardiac artery which necessitated a stent implant in Nov. '06 and a dilatated aortic root that necessitated a replacement ascending aorta on April 4. Although I was already into a lifestyle and...

replacing fuel filler hoses on a 1988 sailfish

jjudge, you are about to embark on one of the nastiest jobs there is! I did the fuel hoses on my 89 Sailfish and they were a mutha! I had to install three inspection ports to access the hoses. (I possibly could have gotten by with 2). You will definitely need an access port on the...

Matching paint color for Grady Whites

My 1989 Sailfish has faded to the point that all the exposed gelcoat is pure white. Gelcoat that is protected from the sun is slightly off white.

    1988 sailfish cabin leak.

jjudge, I think you will go crazy if you try to make a 88 Sailfish cabin rain-tight. But, the most probable leaks are around the windows, in my experience.

Glad to hear that Gerry! Yes, let's get together when we are both at 100% in 2 - 3 months. We can form a "Cardiothoracic Surgery" membership category of Great Grady! Richard

    Back From Cardiac Surgery

Gerry, I'm glad went well and I am glad I was able to help you. At this time, 20 days post-surgery, I am off all pain meds, including Tylenol and am back to working out at the gym (legs only). But, I turned down two fishing offers last weekend, one from Shadygradycapn, as I am not able to...

Tak to me about trailer tires....

I think the most important thing for you to consider now is the weight rating of those tires. I'm assuming it's a tandem axle so the total weight of the hull + the engines + accessories and fuel (minimal) + batteries, etc. + weight of trailer must be less than 7000# to be safe and each tire...

    Greyg8r is back

Hi Gerry! The pain is almost completely gone and I have weaned myself off of the Percoset even before I ran out of pills. I am now taking regular Tylenols. I am a little chest-sore in the morning and I am still dealing with some chills, but they are getting more moderated every day. I think...

    grady white decal removal

I replaced my decals a year or two ago on a similar (1989) age. After I removed the decal with a heat gun, the area wasn't flat. I assumed that I had not removed all of the decal, but I had. The gelcoat was actually a little thicker where the decal was and I think the decal had protected the...

    Greyg8r is back

Gerry, your important heart parts are fine, so everything else can be fixed, which is very good! I have always found walking boring, so I have started rehabbing on the stationary bike. I actually work up a little sweat but the stability of the bike causes less pain than does walking to my...

Square 1/2 inch U-bolts (Stainless) cheap...where to find?

I don't see the benefit in using ss bolts and nuts as you will still have galvanized hardware which will need replacement in 5 - 8 years anyways. But, T A Mahoney's in Tampa, FL, has all those parts in stainless but they are quite pricey.

Gerry, I wasn't gonna say anything until I knew what your decision was, but I went with a tissue valve as well. Mine is a cadaver valve which was part of the whole aorta/aortic root/valve cadaver homograft assembly. Cadaver valves have the same advantages and disadvantages as the porcine and...

    Greyg8r is back

Thanks for asking, Gerry, Yes, the chest pain has diminished by about 25% each day since the surgery, so that I am now down to about 20% of the original pain and I hope to get off the percoset within a week. One thing that I am experiencing that no one had really warned me about is my body...

    Texturing ceiling of cabin?

So, you want me to be the sucker guinea pig... J/K I have to do something, so this might make sense. Questions: Where can I buy this? In a auto parts store? Is it brushed on, rolled on, sprayed with compresser? Is it like the original Model T, "Available in any color you want as long as...
