Thanks, everyone, for weighing in! I dipped the tank this morning and it seems to be at least half full, perhaps more, so the gauge is fairly accurate at this level. I'm going to run it down to 1/4 and measure again.

The engine is 140 DF140B. The gauges are analog. Don't know how I could determine burn rate. Wish I could!

LOL. Same here. But I never let it go below 1/4 tank.

Yes, I'm well aware that it shows more fuel when the boat is bow up.

Thanks for the idea. I noticed that they have specific Ohm readings for levels. I may put a meter on the sender and see if the Ohm reading jibes with the gauge level. Might be interesting.

Following up, I installed a new Seaflo model 42 on my Adventure 20. It was only $65 and came with a little strainer. It's funny that they put the label on upside down. Installation was not too bad; fittings were the same as on the old Shurflo. This is in the rear port side compartment...

Chris, which Seaflo model did you use on your BW23? My livewell has a grile as you describe. Looks like the Seaflos are "on demand" pumps. Is that a problem for this installation? I guess with no faucet involved it would just come on any time you hit the switch...

Actually the Shurflo Blaster 2 is different from the one that Seasick recommended, and quite a bit cheaper. Either should work and fit the space. I agree that it's best to keep the one pump setup...It would be so much bother to change and add another pump. I'm a bit conflicted in all of...

Thanks for your replies and advice! Indeed, I do have a bad voltmeter; although 24 v pumps exist, this boat didn't have one. Sorry about that. I think a new pump is in order; this thing is 30 years old and corroded. As for the configuration on this particular 208, there is only one pump...

There's more to it that that, I think. Actually, voltmeter is showing 24v on the circuit. I'd like to replace with something that will fit easily into the same space with the same fittings.
