1996 yamaha txru - runs fine then wont start after a few hours

UPDATE: so I went through the engine methodically. Bad fuel bulb replaced and new hose bc looked liked inside liner was separating from rubber part (and blew out all fuel lines and vent tube), tested all coils (one bad one by ohm meter readings - replaced all 6 but still not running right...

Great info - wasn't really thinking about the stator%pulser, will try with the ice method which I jave heard worked for the ecu, and then next time try to work on cooling the stator. Was just going to buy the ecu but will give it another round or two of testing first.

Interesting, I will try the washdown trick and see if it helps cool down engine quicker - worst part is when I go out now im trying to get stuck to replicate the problem lol

Think an intermittent (only when hot) failure of the cdi fits the bill - will prob invest and see what happens.

Cockpit bolster shop - Long Island

I've used the canvas store in Huntington for a Bimini top. Nice work, fair prices - im sure there are better out there but price was right.

    trim cylinder cap/seal

I had hard time getting mine loose and had to bring to a mechanic after I stripped out the holes a little. I bought the tool, but I used a socket wrench directly to the tool, I think best to add an extension to tool then the ratchet if that helps (keeps pressure down rather then stripping the...

Bulb gets firm and fuel filter is clear, 95% full. Agree all coils going bad is rare but was cheap compared to replacing the computer.

Anything else electrical you can think of, relays or something else? Will replace coils, and bring bag of ice and see if I can replicate and if ice helps at all.

No horn, same as normal (if pull the safety lanyard off then the alarm sounds when I try to start so I know not that at least)

1996 yamaha txru - runs fine then wont start after a few hours

I tried the gas cap trick with no luck and also threw in some new fuel pumps for safe measure. It will turn and turn but doesn't turn over or sputter. I didn't check spark (didn't have tester with me on the water) but I tried a little starter fluid and nothing at all. After 45 minutes, crank...

1996 yamaha txru - runs fine then wont start after a few hours

Thanks seasick. It cranks and cranks but just won't turn or even sputter (the engine usually turns over first turn everytime). Heat soak is what I suspected too, figure new coils are cheap place to start at around $100 bucks. Think if that don't work then the ECU, heard you can put a bag of ice...
