Should I drop insurance in the winter?

Keep the coverage year round that is the way the companies calculate the premiums based on where you live. And your homeowners policy isn't going to offer coverage for a larger motor boat. Many people are misinformed and think that their homeowners will cover something while it is in a garage or...

Couple updates while we are waiting for warmer days

Had a couple improvements made while we are all freezing here in MD. Added a Fusion with 4 new Wet Sounds speakers, and had a custom drawer put in where the old stereo was. I am really happy with that I wish the color was a bit closer to the factory but it sure looks better then anything else I...

    When it goes wrong!

To me the boat looked like it was sinking already. I mean as soon as he backed off the boat went down and not up really...she had to have water in her.

    Need insurance recommendations

Hey all just a friendly piece of advice when looking over your boat insurance. If you have a personal umbrella policy make sure that you have informed your agent/company that you have a boat and that the vessel is listed on the umbrella policy and that your boat policy has the correct underlying...

    Insurance renewal question

I am not licensed in TX or I would help you out. As someone else here mentioned do a search for a independent insurance agency. I have several companies we use for boats and we wouldn't have an issue finding your boat a home. Most companies will ask for the survey but some will accept a recent...

While the boat is sitting in the driveway and not on the lift?

Just wondering what are the best add-ons/customizations that you've added to your boat? I have a 205 Tournament and I have upgraded and put in a Simrad Go7 and added a bluetooth adapter for the stock radio. I didn't know if there were any must haves that anyone had done they would be willing...

    Why a Grady?

So although I am not retired...I faced a similar dilemma a few years ago. We purchased a home on the water. We are on a river and it leads out to the bay on the Eastern Shore of MD. I grew up fishing and boating so when I bought our boat I thought I knew what I wanted. I really wish I had...

Pulled her out and had her Winterized last weekend! :(

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. I thought the water/fuel separator filters were supposed to be replaced more often which is why I made the comment. I have the 10-Micron Fuel Water filter spin on Yamaha. From what I have read you have to replace them after every 50 hours and at least once...

Pulled her out and had her Winterized last weekend! :(

So took my boat to a pretty reputable boat mechanic in our area. I know several people that have used them and they have never had an issue. Last year I did my other two boats myself but this year I just one I haven't even started and my new to me Grady I just didn't feel like fooling with it...

    3M 5200 getting screws out

I got her ass! So anyway I bought a impact driver as suggested. Anyway we have a small paddle boat down at my dock and my 12 year old son gave me a hand holding the boat. I brought everything with me on the boat and then some. When I got out there I figured I’d give it a light tap with impact...

    3M 5200 getting screws out

I didn't take photos of the screws themselves. They aren't striped at all so hopefully the impact driver will get them out. And yes those fish were great! I went with a buddy of mine last Friday and we picked up over 20, 4 keepers!

    3M 5200 getting screws out

Thanks for all of the feedback! So I purchased a hand impact driver set. I am going to give that a try first and see if I can get the screws out. Hopefully I can get them to free up and come out on the lift. Man I hate having to pull her out of the water right now but can't mark any fish like...

    3M 5200 getting screws out

I think I will be picking up a impact screwdriver on my way home and giving that a shot. I have a impact drill but think the one that you hit with the hammer would be the best thing to free it up. YEA...I would have never thought about the mount breaking like that and well never thought I would...
