    228 repower

first I've heard of twins on a 228. i imagine the stern on that boat sat low. check scuppers and deck. also, this might be different on the earlier versions, but my 2005 228 can't hold 2 outboards on the bracket. Made for single engine application.

Grady 228 SIMRAD NSS Evo3 question

Looking at SIMRAD NSS Evo3 for my 228. I want it to go in the glovebox/electronics box built into the helm. Do you think a NSS9 unit will fit in there? Dimensions: 10 15/16"W x 6 7/16"H x 4 3/16"D. Boat is stored for winter or I would measure. Appreciate it!

Some Basics on Winterizing a 228?

so, it turns out that west marine has a handy-dandy plunger winterizing tool that has a threaded attachment in the plunger section that you hook your tank of antifreeze to, and a height-adjustable handle setup. I only had one day to get the boat winterized, so I wussed out and bought it. Here...

Some Basics on Winterizing a 228?

I am going to try to rig a hose to a plunger and run antifreeze through the pumps. I'm sure there is a video on youtube... Thanks!

Some Basics on Winterizing a 228?

All, I bought a 2005 228 this year. Love the boat. Engine is being winterized by the yard, but with their prices, I need to do what I can when I can. So, for the raw water pumps, can I simply shut off the valves and run the pumps for a few seconds to get any excess water out? Assume I then...

best engine size for seafarer 228

I just hung a suzuki 250 on my 2005 228. I would argue that it is the best combination of value, performance, efficiency, and power. I could have chosen any motor, and I've previously owned all of them, except for honda.

    Grady 228 Depth Finder Question

I thought about that. I felt like it would obstruct vision while I was seated. I should revisit.

    2 questions, adventure 208

I recently sold my 1993 208 that was repowered in 2007 with the 200 etec small block motor. Perfect match. Scuppers not under. Excellent power and very fuel efficient. great combination. I didn't have a hard top, but the way that motor performed, the added weight would not have been a problem...

    208 adventure-looking into repower options.

i also had a 93 208 (first year for the CV2?). It had been repowered with a 200 Etec - the smaller block version, a 2.6 Liter, vs. the big block version, which would be too heavy. no issues with scuppers. It was the perfect, perfect match for the hull. more torque and power across all the rpm...

    Grady 228 Depth Finder Question

LOL - I assumed the raymarine contact would fix no charge as these units have been very problematic. I should double check! I believe I do have one of those manufactured in Mexico. I was going to do a software upgrade on the unit, but I'm not even sure that would work as there is no power to...

    Grady 228 Depth Finder Question

Thanks, Dennis. Actually, Raymarine will fix the DSM for free, and I'll take care of it in the off season. Reason I was thinking this could be time for a change was that I'm not a big fan of the MFD having 3 different component readouts on it. I'd like to have depth on a separate screen - also...

    Grady 228 Depth Finder Question

All, I'm the new owner of a 2005 228. Great boat - had the 208 before this. This 228 has a raymarine C80. I don't have the $$ for a new system just now, so I need to do the best I can with what I have for this season and next. The C80 works fine except for the depth finder - reading no data...
