    Window Latch 87 Offshore

Port side window vent. Has a plastic handle/latch. The latch parted recently so the vent obviously won't stay closed. Haven't contacted a dealer yet, thought I'd post here first to see if anyone else has dealt with this and is there a fix or replacement. Thanks

    Prep Requirments for Barrier Coat??

Pretty sure Interlux site has more than enough info. on hull prep for painting or barrier coat, so not sure about the proper grit other than I'd make sure the bottom was good and dull and then clean. Sure others can chime in but the simplest method for me on striking a waterline was to put boat...

how to remove cockpit seats 86 offshore 24

I can't answer your question having the 87 offshore where the base bolts from the top. However it appears that your new pedestals base will over hang the walk thru side when mounted. Grady-White either found or fabricated the base plate because of how close the pedestal is to the aisle (walk...

Deck drain hose & thru hull replacement

Thanks, I take it you ordered from Grady (dealer) and not the manufacturer of the drain? I emailed Grady, know a phone call is quicker just haven't had time. I found what I think is the correct size, just not flush mount.

Deck drain hose & thru hull replacement

I've an 87 Offshore. My flush type cockpit drains are as you described and are way overdue in replacing. So did you deal directly with Grady or did they divert you to a dealer? Were the new pair of one piece 90* flush fitting? Thanks.

    Crack in H/T frame

Where is the crack on the vertical tubing, top, middle, bottom? Can water enter the tubing and can it hold the water? Water the freezes can cause an outward bulging or crack.

Looking for pics of a 86 offshore 24 with twins

I must have really overlooked the stainless transom thru-hulls. When you get time forward me a link to where you found them. I've only been able to find the original plastic. Thanks

Looking for pics of a 86 offshore 24 with twins

In 86 there was a rating of 300hp for notched transom. The boat could be ordered with a bracket or the OMC sterndrive relic but there was no rating for max hp. I would assume that the bracketed boat would have same max rating, but who knows. In 87 there was a 300hp rating for notched transom...

Phase 1 of the winter project is complete

Don't know about inside the transom, but to me the bolt holes of a single bracket are evident as well as different water lines. Once you clean the transom look closely for gel coat blisters and repair. When I finally had enough with the springfield bracket and removed it, I had many blisters...

Phase 1 of the winter project is complete

Looking at your transom, it appears the previous owner changed from a single to double bracket at some point.

1986 grady drive filled with foam??

Mine in 1987 had foam insert. So I would say in that era, yes. Just hear-say, I was told that it helped displace water intrusion, personally I would rather be able to see inside the void than see foam. Was also told it increased buoyancy, I don't really believe that. Maybe if the bracket...

where to get extra long thru hull fittings 86 offshore 24?

Re: where to get extra long thru hull fittings 86 offshore 2 I wouldn't swear to it but unless your transom thickness is greater than mine then it should work. What I've got measures 3 1/2" threaded part and it works for me. Once you tighten the locking nut, which really doesn't hold the...
