    Where's the sending unit on 1980 204F?

Yea, I'm a bit disappointed with the dealer. They put 10 gal in to test drive and said there was no issue. I'll go back at for the 20 hr service in a few weeks and see what they can find. I've already contacted them. Somehow, this message was posted twice. Check the other thread for...

    Where's the sending unit on 1980 204F?

You're right Brian. That sounds like a winter project even in SC. I was hoping to find a quicker fix by locating the sender and replacing the seal. Since time (and money!) is everything right now, I bought an 18 gal. external tank. I'm going to run off of it for the next few weeks and see...

    Where's the sending unit on 1980 204F?

There's one inspection plate. It's in the rear of the fuel tank access panel. The tank is not directly under it. I can see, touch, the tank from there but, there is no way to make any repairs from it. I asked GW and they said some of these boats had the unit on the bow end.

    Where's the sending unit on 1980 204F?

I just launched my 204 Fisherman. First day in the water, I smelled gas. I've dried the tank chamber by running a fan through the inspection hole. I would like to check the sending unit by cutting in another inspection plate. The compartment panel runs under the console. It's a big deal...

    New owner, old 204 question

The 1980 204F is in the water! The Zuke DF175 is a great match. Still breaking in, but, was able to hit 6000 RPM with fuel and 600 lbs of men in her. She hit 47! I'm know speed demon, but, that was quite fast for me! A second battery was added and both are installed under the console...

    How far out

I'm interested in going out 20 miles or so in my 1980 204 fisherman. It's at the shop being repowered with a Suzuki 175 4s. Any concerns with heading this far out on the SC coast?

    Battery Placement

It looks like Todd and moeller both make dual battery boxes with adequate protection and ventilation. Jamestown carries both. These combined with the additional couple vents placed on the console as mentioned above may do the trick. On my boat, there's much more ventilation in the CC than...

    Battery Placement

Currently, there is only one battery and a perko switch. I hve to check, but, I'm thinking about just moving the existing battery and adding a second. I'll probably leave the perko, unless it is best to have it mounted as close to the battery as possible.

    Battery Placement

Is there any reason why I shouldn't relocate the batteries under the console instead of in the stern hatches? My reasoning is that it would elevate some of the weight in the stern and keep them more accessible and protected.

    Unknown plug on panel

Could it be for a radio? Or, is there another size for a cigarette plug different from the current universal plug in most vehicles?

    Unknown plug on panel

It is flat sst with threads to screw in. The cap is about 3/8" thick. It appears to be a fairly serious piece of hardware. There are 2 brass contacts inside the plug.

    Unknown plug on panel

There is a plug on my instument panel which I'm not sure what it is for and hoping someone here knows. It looks like a 12v accessory plug, however, it is a smaller diameter and it has a metal cover which screws over it. It is located near the light switch. This is on a 1980 204 Fisherman...
